Baseball Game Preview: Frontier Falcons vs. Jamestown Red & Green

The Frontier Falcons will challenge the Jamestown Red & Green at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Frontier is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

Frontier barely beat Williamsville East the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Flames on Thursday.

Jacob Hudson made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, Robby Kibler was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Matthew Jones was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Frontier kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.

Meanwhile, Jamestown unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 11-1 to Dunkirk.

Frontier pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Jamestown, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Frontier came up short against Jamestown when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 10-5. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
