Soccer Recap: Hanks Comes Up Short

Hanks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the El Dorado Aztecs. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 580th, while the Aztecs are ranked 111th).

Hanks' goal came courtesy of Evan Ruiz, which was the first he's scored this season.

Hanks' loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for El Dorado, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5-2 record this season.

Hanks didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 5-0 defeat against Americas on the 12th. As for El Dorado, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Del Valle on the 12th.
