Basketball Recap: Holtville Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Holtville and Selma squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Holtville had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 47-16 loss at the hands of the Selma Saints. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

It was another big night for Rod'Neisha Parker, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine steals for Selma. Parker's morning made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jykierra Oliver, who posted eight points in addition to eight boards and five assists.

Holtville's defeat dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Selma, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-3.

Holtville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Selma, they will face off against Briarwood Christian at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Selma is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.
