Basketball Game Preview: Marion Harding Presidents vs. River Valley Vikings

The Marion Harding Presidents will venture away from home to square off against the River Valley Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. River Valley took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Marion Harding, who comes in off a win.

Marion Harding took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They walked away with a 52-45 victory over Highland. The score was all tied up 24-24 at the break, but the Presidents were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, River Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 39-21 fall against Pleasant. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 495th, while the Spartans are ranked 216th).

Myla Kenney was River Valley's leading scorer, having posted six points. Megan Clausing held things down on the boards with eight rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Marion Harding's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for River Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Marion Harding couldn't quite finish off River Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 41-38. Can Marion Harding avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
