Softball Recap: Beaufort Has No Trouble Against Bluffton

Beaufort won the last time they faced Bluffton and things went their way on Thursday too. The Eagles were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over the Bobcats. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by 12 runs or more this season.

Adalyn Johnson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Beaufort got a massive performance out of Hadley Stevens, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. That's the most runs Stevens has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Arianna Smith, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Beaufort hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Beaufort now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Bluffton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beaufort will take on Woodland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bluffton, they will face off against Whale Branch at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
