Basketball Recap: King Cove Falls Despite Big Games from Jada Bear and Ella Lewis

King Cove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Sand Point Eagles/Lady Eagles, falling 49-29. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the T-Jacks and Rookies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 43-28 last Friday.

King Cove's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ella Lewis, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds, and Jada Bear, who posted seven points and six boards. Those seven points gave Bear a new career-high.

Even though they lost, King Cove smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive games.

King Cove's record is now 0-3. As for Sand Point, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

While King Cove had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
