Baseball Recap: Stanton County Wins Going Away Against Satanta

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stanton County). Everything went their way against the Satanta Indians on Thursday as they made off with a 27-7 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-3 on Thursday.

The team relied heavily on Yarel Molina, who got on base in all six of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (four). Carlos Ramos was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Stanton County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive contests.

The victory got Stanton County back to even at 2-2. As for Satanta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Stanton County will square off against Springfield at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The Longhorns have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.4 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Satanta, they will head out on the road to face off against Spearville on Thursday.
