Football Recap: Columbus Cougars vs. Three Forks Wolves

After flying high against Whitehall/Harrison/Willow Creek last Friday, Columbus came back down to earth. The Cougars had to suffer through a 50-7 loss at the hands of the Three Forks Wolves. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.

Colter Chamberlin threw for 91 yards on eight of 20 attempts. Kyle Gravelle was his top target, picking up 49 receiving yards.

Kanon Reichman was his usual excellent self, rushing for 249 yards and three scores on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 131 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes for Three Forks. Reichman's longest rush was for an incredible 92 yards.

Columbus' loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Three Forks, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Columbus has already played their next game, a 54-1 win against Sweet Grass County on the 17th. As for Three Forks, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Reichman and Tyzer Zody.
