Recap: East Rowan Mustangs vs. Carson Cougars
The East Rowan Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by Carson at home and fell 88-53. While losing is never fun, East Rowan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 530th, while Carson is ranked 154th).
East Rowan's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drake Jones, who scored ten points. Jonathan Wembolua was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
East Rowan has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season. As for Carson, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Rowan will take on Robinson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Rowan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
