Volleyball Recap: Mansfield Summit Comes Up Short

If Mansfield Summit was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Lancaster on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jaguars fell 2-0 to the Brennan Bears on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2021.

While Mansfield Summit had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-20.

Mansfield Summit's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Brennan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Mansfield Summit will head out to challenge Sam Houston at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brennan, they will take on Wylie in a tournament on Thursday.
