Football Recap: Palmyra Comes Up Short

After soaring to 82 points the game before, Palmyra was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were dealt a 44-8 loss at the hands of Centralia. Palmyra hasn't had much luck with Centralia recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Rex Bryson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 201 yards and one score on only 11 carries for Centralia. Those 201 rushing yards gave Bryson a new career-high. Chase Kempker was another key back, rushing for 69 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries.

Palmyra's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Centralia, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Coming up, Palmyra will look to defend their home field on Friday against South Shelby at 7:00 p.m. As for Centralia, they will face off against Kirksville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
