Volleyball Game Preview: Elba Bluejays vs. Riverside Chargers

Elba hasn't had much luck against Riverside recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bluejays will challenge the Chargers at 6:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Elba came up short against Archangels Catholic and fell 2-0.

Elba was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Riverside came tearing into Tuesday's match with seven straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Warriors. Surprisingly, this marked the Chargers' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Riverside took both sets by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-13.

Elba now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Riverside, their win bumped their record up to 21-3.

Elba couldn't quite get it done against Riverside in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 2-0. Can the Bluejays avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
