Football Recap: McComb Takes a Loss

After flying high against Toledo Christian last Saturday, McComb came back down to earth. The Panthers were dealt a 52-9 defeat at the hands of the Liberty-Benton Eagles on Friday. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-0.

McComb now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Liberty-Benton, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

McComb and Liberty-Benton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Panthers will square off against Arcadia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (239 vs. 659). Meanwhile, Liberty-Benton (ranked 91st) will meet Riverdale (ranked 589th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
