Volleyball Game Preview: Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars vs. McArthur Mustangs

Pembroke Pines Charter is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Monday. They will welcome the McArthur Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Pembroke Pines Charter will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating West Broward, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Jaguars skirted past the Bobcats 3-2.

Pembroke Pines Charter was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-22, 15-11.

Meanwhile, McArthur posted their closest victory since March 18, 2024 on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Flanagan 3-2.

McArthur was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-19, 22-25, 21-25, 25-23, 15-9.

McArthur picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-2. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Pembroke Pines Charter skirted past McArthur 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Jaguars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
