Softball Recap: Oviedo Takes a Loss

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Oviedo was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They fell 5-1 to the Lake Howell Silverhawks. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Silverhawks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Oviedo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Tinberg, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Ahmaya Wheeler also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Oviedo's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Lake Howell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Oviedo will be playing at home against Lake Mary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Lake Howell, they are taking a road trip to challenge Seminole at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
