Watkins Memorial barely beat Lakewood the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp 12-3 win on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won five in a row.

Brayden Windnagel spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Dylan Gray was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Bradley Vincent, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Watkins Memorial's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Lakewood, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Watkins Memorial has already played their next matchup, a 4-2 victory against Mt. Vernon on the 11th. As for Lakewood, they will square off against Fairfield Christian Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight.
