Football Recap: East Poinsett County Starts Season with Defeat at Home

East Poinsett County couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Walnut Ridge Bobcats on Friday, falling 37-0. The Warriors lost against the Bobcats in their previous head to head back in September of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 34-30 score last time.

Walnut Ridge was led to victory by Jersie Cunningham and Jayden Saulsbury. Cunningham rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown, while Saulsbury rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
