Baseball Recap: Denver West Comes Up Short

Denver West had lost 20 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-14 to make it 21. They came up short against the Bruce Randolph Grizzlies, falling 14-0. The shutout was out of character for the Cowboys seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

As for Bruce Randolph, they moved to 2-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the match before.

For Bruce Randolph's part, the team relied heavily on Issac Varela, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those four stolen bases gave Varela a new career-high. Jason Brito was another key player, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.
