This season hasn't been kind to the Psalms Christian Academy Ambassadors, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They were beaten by Word of God Academy 96-13 on Tuesday. Psalms Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 60-7.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Brandon Jennings and
Micah Christenson, who each put up four points. Jennings held things down on the boards with two rebounds.
Word of God Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taj Bell , who scored 33 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Bell has scored at least 25% of Word of God Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyere Cartwright , who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 13 steals.
Psalms Christian Academy bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.4 points per game. As for Word of God Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Psalms Christian Academy has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Faith Training Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th.
