Volleyball Recap: New Washington Takes a Loss

New Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Lanesville Eagles, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-13, 25-17.

Kaylee Lawrence paced New Washington's offense, picking up 13 kills. Lawrence got some help from Addy Lathem and her 15 assists. Naomi Olson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

New Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Lanesville, they moved to 12-10 with that win, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

New Washington has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Switzerland County on the 27th. As for Lanesville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against West Washington on the 30th.
