Basketball Recap: Northumberland Comes Up Short

Northumberland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Westmoreland Eagles, falling 55-30. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 346th, while the Eagles are ranked 160th).

Northumberland's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Westmoreland, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2.

Northumberland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westmoreland, they will face off against Essex at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Essex will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Westmoreland surely won't give up without a fight.
