Football Game Preview: Struthers Wildcats vs. McKinley Red Dragons

Struthers is on a four-game streak of home losses, and McKinley a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Struthers Wildcats will host the McKinley Red Dragons at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Struthers blew East out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday East got their revenge. The Wildcats fell just short of East by a score of 14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered since November 8, 2024.

Meanwhile, McKinley fell victim to South Range and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Raiders 62-0. While losing is never fun, the Red Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 585th, while the Raiders are ranked 129th).

Struthers' defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for McKinley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Everything came up roses for Struthers against McKinley in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 53-0 win. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Red Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
