Basketball Recap: Heavener Takes a Loss

Heavener was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 54-39 fall against the Talihina Golden Tigers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-41 back in January.

Talihina's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cy Ammons led the charge by going 6 of 11 en route to 18 points. The contest was Ammons' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kaden Cossey, who posted 12 points.

Heavener's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Talihina, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.

Heavener has already played their next matchup (against Stigler), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Talihina is taking a road trip to face off against Wilburton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
