Softball Recap: Reading's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Reading unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Roger Bacon Spartans by a score of 8-6. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Eliza Schierloh and Madison Berry stepped up to the plate in a big way. Schierloh scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Berry scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Reading's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Roger Bacon, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reading will welcome Deer Park at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Roger Bacon, they will face off against Clark Montessori at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
