West had won three straight on the road, but on Friday they bumped up to 5-2 to make it four. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 33-32 win over the Foothill Trojans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since September 27, 2024.

It was another big night for Solomon Harris, who rushed for 155 yards and three TDs on only 15 carries, and also threw for 125 yards and one touchdown. His longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. West's leading receiver Jamarr Price was Harris' top target yet again, picking up 75 receiving yards and one score.

As for Foothill, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. Despite 59 more yards than West, the Trojans couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Foothill's loss came despite strong showings from Martin Velasquez and Andrew Trevino. Velasquez rushed for 115 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Trevino rushed for 141 yards and one TD.

West wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 42-26 loss against Tehachapi on the 17th. As for Foothill, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 36-0 win against Del Oro on the 17th.
