Baseball Recap: Zeeland East Chix vs. West Ottawa Panthers

While Zeeland East's win against West Ottawa wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Chix had just enough and edged out the Panthers 6-5. The Chix haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Eli Nienhuis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other pitching news, Jailen Nesbit looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.
