Basketball Game Preview: Middle Creek Mustangs vs. Panther Creek Catamounts

Middle Creek is 0-10 against Panther Creek since December of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Middle Creek Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panther Creek Catamounts at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Middle Creek was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Green Level. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Gators are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, Panther Creek ended up a good deal behind Holly Springs on Friday and lost 80-63. The Catamounts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Panther Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Middle Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Middle Creek lost to Panther Creek at home by a decisive 72-53 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Middle Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
