Volleyball Recap: Coal Ridge Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory + How To Watch

Coal Ridge waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Basalt Longhorns by a score of 3-1. For the Titans, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Longhorns walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

In the three sets Coal Ridge was on fire: they won each by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 22-25, 25-14, 25-14.

Coal Ridge had a senior duo take command as Chloe Coon had 22 digs and three aces and Austin Jensen had five digs and three aces. Coon has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played. Shayla Huck also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Coal Ridge was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in three consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Basalt still got an impressive performance from Sidney Barill, who had 16 digs and two aces.

Coal Ridge's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Basalt, they dropped their record down to 4-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Coal Ridge will head out to challenge Rifle at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Basalt, they will venture away from home to face off against Roaring Fork at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
