Matthew Metzger Earns League's Top Spot
Starting off the list is Northern Cass's Matthew Metzger, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Metzger picked up 102 receiving yards and a touchdown, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 88 yards.
Northern Cass is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5. Metzger and Northern Cass will face off against Hillsboro/Central Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Matthew Hoppe Makes It Two for Northern Cass
Keeping Metzger company is Matthew Hoppe, a fellow Northern Cass player. He rushed for 91 yards.
If the past is any indication, Hoppe could be in store for another big game when he takes on Hillsboro/Central Valley on Friday. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Hoppe saw the H-CV Burros), he rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.

While Oakes might've come up empty on Friday, Braysen Sagert wasn't going down without a fight. Sagert was unstoppable, rushing for three yards.
