Basketball Recap: Escalante Comes Up Short

Escalante came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 66-45 to the Milford Tigers. The loss continues a trend for the Moquis in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Despite the loss, Escalante still got an impressive performance from Jaxen Cottam, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 boards. The dominant performance gave Cottam a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Rayce Jenkins, who posted 12 points.

It was another big night for Sadler Barnes, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 assists for Milford. Barnes is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 12 games he's played. Carson Cheney was another key player, going 6 for 8 en route to 13 points and six boards.

Escalante's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Milford, their victory bumped their record up to 18-3.

As of now, neither Escalante nor Milford have any future games scheduled.
