Baseball Game Preview: Kewanee Boilermakers vs. Princeton Tigers

Kewanee hasn't had much luck against Princeton recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Boilermakers are taking a road trip to challenge the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Kewanee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Kewanee is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Rockridge on Friday. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 3-2.

Kewanee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lincoln Mason, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Princeton entered their tilt with Riverdale on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Rams 22-11. The match marked the Tigers' most dominant win of the season.

The team relied heavily on Noah LaPorte, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jack Oester, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Princeton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .580. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Kewanee's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Princeton, their record is now 7-4-1.
