Baseball Recap: Bethany Community Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Bethany Community ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the Cornerstone Charter Cardinals 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolves have posted against the Cardinals since May 1, 2023.

Landen Long made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Long wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brooks McDowell, who went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Bethany Community kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March.

Bethany Community's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Cornerstone Charter, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.

Bethany Community will face off against Leadership Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cornerstone Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
