Baseball Game Preview: Shalom Christian Academy Flames vs. Conestoga Christian Cougars

The Shalom Christian Academy Flames are taking a road trip to take on the Conestoga Christian Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Conestoga Christian took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Shalom Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.

Shalom Christian Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against West Shore Christian Academy, sneaking past 8-6.

The team relied heavily on Will Turner, who went 3-for-4 with five stolen bases and three runs. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Keaton Shands, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Conestoga Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Lancaster Mennonite by a score of 5-4.

Sawyer Barnett made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Conestoga Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Shalom Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Shalom Christian Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game.
