Preview: Corinth Christian Academy Warriors vs. Westwood Christian Warriors

Corinth Christian Academy is 5-0 against Westwood Christian since November of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Corinth Christian Academy Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Westwood Christian Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, things could have been worse for Corinth Christian Academy, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-41 loss to Open Bible Christian. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Corinth Christian Academy in their matchups with Open Bible Christian: they've now lost six in a row.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Alden Hughes, who scored 15 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Fowler, who scored nine points.

Westwood Christian suffered their biggest loss since November 16, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 44-24 walloping at the hands of Open Bible Christian.

Despite their loss, Westwood Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brett Bozeman, who scored four points along with three steals, was perhaps the best of all.

Corinth Christian Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Westwood Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Corinth Christian Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 25.4 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Westwood Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 29.6 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Corinth Christian Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Westwood Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 47-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Corinth Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
