Softball Recap: Graford Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

Graford had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Huckabay on Monday. The Graford Rabbits never let the Huckabay Indians get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory.

Not much got past Trinity Leach, who gave up just a hit and racked up 17 Ks to keep Huckabay off the board. With that strong performance, Leach is now averaging an impressive 6.4 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Faith Perry was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That home run was her first of the season. Lilly Ruddy was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4.

Graford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .424 or higher in four consecutive games.

Graford has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-6 record this season.

Graford will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lipan at 5:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for Huckabay, they will head out on the road to face off against Cisco at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Huckabay has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with four straight losses, while Cisco will come in with four straight wins.
