Baseball Game Preview: Jacobs Golden Eagles vs. Harvest Christian Academy Lions

The Jacobs Golden Eagles will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Harvest Christian Academy Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Friday, Jacobs came up short against Barrington and fell 7-4.

Andrew Deegan was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Gavin Grummer, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Harvest Christian Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Hampshire on Monday and fell 4-2. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Whip-Purs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Kyle Ziebell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Jacobs' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Harvest Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Everything went Jacobs' way against Harvest Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Jacobs made off with a 15-1 victory. Will Jacobs repeat their success, or does Harvest Christian Academy has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
