Gila Ridge took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Cibola, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Malina Peterson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Peyton Waymire was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-3. Lillyana Price was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
