Basketball Game Preview: West Columbus Vikings vs. West Bladen Knights

West Columbus and West Bladen are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The two teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: West Columbus has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while West Bladen will arrive with five straight wins.

On Tuesday, West Columbus came up short against South Columbus and fell 58-47.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely West Bladen's strategy against St. Pauls on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that West Bladen blew St. Pauls out of the water with a 68-19 final score. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 23 points or more this season.

West Bladen had a senior duo take command as Hezekiah Adams posted 20 points and Chase Williams had 19 points. Williams' evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jackson Pait was another key player, putting up 11 points.

West Bladen pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. As for West Columbus, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

West Columbus took a serious blow against West Bladen when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 67-20. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point West Columbus was down 47-12.
