Basketball Game Preview: St. Raphael Academy Saints vs. South Kingstown Rebels

The St. Raphael Academy Saints will take on the South Kingstown Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

St. Raphael Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Coventry, who was ranked 19th at the time (St. Raphael Academy was ranked 25th). St. Raphael Academy had to suffer through a 73-40 loss at the hands of Coventry. The Saints' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, South Kingstown waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They managed a 72-67 victory over the Patriots.

South Kingstown pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for St. Raphael Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-11.

St. Raphael Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against South Kingstown when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 67-61 victory.
