Basketball Game Preview: San Diego Cavers vs. Montgomery Aztecs

Having just played yesterday, the San Diego Cavers will jump right back in to play the Montgomery Aztecs at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in San Diego's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.

On Friday, San Diego didn't have too much trouble with Hoover as they won 60-46. The Cavers haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Montgomery entered their tilt with Olympian on Wednesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Eagles 69-29. The Aztecs pushed the score to 59-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles had no chance of recovering from.

Montgomery pushed their record up to 23-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.9 points over those games. As for San Diego, their win bumped their record up to 21-4.

San Diego and Montgomery were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2015, but San Diego came up empty-handed after a 68-67 loss. Can San Diego avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
