Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

On Friday, the Trinity Christian Gryphons ended up a good deal behind the Charles J. Colgan Sharks and lost 58-40. The Gryphons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Charles J. Colgan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Milana Zeraye led the charge by going 7 of 9 on her way to 17 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Zeraye a new career-high in points. Aaliyah Thrash was another key player, putting up 14 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Trinity Christian's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for Charles J. Colgan, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity Christian has already played their next contest (against Fredericksburg Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Charles J. Colgan will challenge Gar-Field at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
