Recap: West Branch Warriors vs. Woodridge Bulldogs
The West Branch Warriors had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.3 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They came out on top against Woodridge by a score of 33-20. Given West Branch's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Woodridge is ranked 290th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Beau Alazaus looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 208 yards and three touchdowns. Alazaus was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 51 yards. Joey Jackson did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 93 receiving yards.
West Branch's win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.0 points per game. As for Woodridge, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
West Branch will look to defend their home field on Friday against Streetsboro at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Streetsboro's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last seven contests. Woodridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
