Recap: East vs. Lakeview Bulldogs
East's's game on Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They snuck past Lakeview with a 44-38 victory. Given East's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while Lakeview is ranked 646th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the defeat, Lakeview saw an underclassman step up: Anna Haynie scored 4 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenna Werner, who scored 12 points.
East now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lakeview, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
East will head out on the road to face off against Struthers at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Lakeview, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against McKinley at 5:30 p.m. McKinley is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
