Softball Recap: Williams' Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Needles, Williams was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Northland Prep Academy Spartans a 14-0 shutout. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Audrina Baldwin was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

In other batting news, Faith Jensen was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Danika Howe, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Williams kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory snapped Williams' losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-9 record. As for Northland Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Williams will venture away from home to face off against Mogollon at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northland Prep Academy, they will welcome Round Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
