Volleyball Recap: Bishop Hartley Takes a Loss

Bishop Hartley lost against Bishop Watterson back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Hawks fell 3-1 to the Eagles.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 23-25, 25-21, 25-16.

Maddie Ryan paced Bishop Hartley's offense, picking up 16 kills. Ryan got some help from Malory Matheny and her 28 assists. Matheny was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Ashley Moreland had a dynamite game For Bishop Watterson., getting 29 digs and two aces. Those 29 digs gave Moreland a new career-high. Ava Picken was another key player, getting 18 assists and nine digs.

Bishop Hartley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Bishop Watterson, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.

Coming up, Bishop Hartley will take on Miami Trace at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bishop Watterson, they will head out to challenge Fairbanks at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
