Volleyball Recap: Surry Central's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road + How To Watch

Surry Central lost against East Surry back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Golden Eagles lost 3-0 to the Cardinals. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Golden Eagles have suffered since October 15, 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-17, 25-16.

Surry Central lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Presley Smith, who had ten kills and six digs. She has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 27 times she's played.

Surry Central's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4. As for East Surry, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Surry Central will face off against East Wilkes at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for East Surry, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against North Surry at 6:00 p.m.
