Football Recap: Eupora Takes a Loss

Despite a strong season so far, Eupora has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 26-20 heartbreaker at the hands of the Philadelphia Tornadoes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 27-20 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Eupora lost on Friday, don't look at Peyton Perkins. Despite the final result, he rushed for 213 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 12.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 68 yards and one TD. Perkins' rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 101 rushing yards.

Eupora's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Philadelphia, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Looking ahead, Eupora will look to defend their home field on Friday against East Webster at 7:00 p.m. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Philadelphia, they will venture away from home to face off against Kemper County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tornadoes will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
