Basketball Recap: Oceanside Takes a Loss

Oceanside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-53 heartbreaker at the hands of Mission Vista. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Mission Vista earlier this season, when they won 62-57.

Despite the loss, Oceanside had strong showings from Tan Nguyen, who posted 14 points and three steals, and Matix Agee, who had 16 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaeliin Watts, who put up nine points and five boards.

Oceanside's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Mission Vista, their victory bumped their record up to 6-23.

Oceanside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 53-46 win against San Dieguito Academy on the 14th. Mission Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
