Basketball Game Preview: Garretson Blue Dragons vs. Parker Pheasants

The Garretson Blue Dragons will square off against the Parker Pheasants at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Garretson and 25 for Parker dating back to last season.

Garretson came up short against Elkton/Lake Benton on Friday, falling 53-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Blue Dragons have suffered against the Elks since February 10, 2015.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-27, which was the final score in Parker's tilt against Parkston on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Pheasants can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Trojans are ranked 14th).

Parker's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Garretson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

Garretson strolled past Parker in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 61-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Garretson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
