Wabash scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 47-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northfield Norsemen. The Apaches haven't had much luck with the Norsemen recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Wabash lost, don't look at Haiden McWhirt. Despite the final result, he threw for 212 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 56 yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Noah Baldwin, who gained 135 total yards and two touchdowns.

Northfield had a senior duo take command as Luke Eviston rushed for 129 yards and Tyler Haupert rushed for 59 yards and one score on only five carries. Those 129 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Eviston.

Wabash's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Northfield, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Wabash has already played their next contest, a 48-13 defeat against Northwestern on the 3rd. As for Northfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 51-14 loss against Rochester on the 3rd.
